This year, the Cisco Partner Technical Exchange (PTX) 2026 felt less like a standard technical ‘download’ and more like a pivotal shift in how we approach the market.
Hosted in Bangkok, from 10th to 12th of March, this year’s PTX focused on AI-Ready Data Centers, Future-Proof Workplaces, and Digital Resilience, where Cisco demonstrated a clear, unified strategy. Beyond the slides and roadmaps, the real value was found in the dialogues between experts, partners, and technology itself.
The human element of innovation
While the sessions were packed with data, the ‘hallway tracks’ and executive roundtables provided the context that makes this partnership so strong. For Arjun De, Outcomex’s Head of Solution Sales, the highlight was the chance to connect on a human level with global leaders: “It’s always the people you meet and the conversations you have on the side that you take away.” He explains, “Sitting down to discuss Cisco’s networking portfolio while trading stories about fly fishing and Muay Thai builds the trust that allows us to go to market with a single, aligned story for our customers.”
Frances Demetriou, Alliances Manager at Outcomex, explains that this human connection extends to the wider business strategy: “Attending this event with APJC experts, you get the ‘explainer’ during breaks about how leading-edge technology translates in the real world. Every session concludes with a translation of technology into partner programs and profitability.”

Key takaways: From concept to reality

1. The ‘Wow’ Moment: Cisco Unified Edge
The standout demonstration of the week featured a robotic barista powered by the Cisco Unified Edge and Intel. It was a perfect metaphor for the ‘art of the possible’ .
“It turned what was just metal and silicon into something that came to life. Seeing a robot using computer vision to grind and extract a perfect coffee showed us what happens when a high-performance compute meets the edge,” says Arjun.
“This was the real deal,” explains Frances, “beautiful movements and a clean pour. If you replace the coffee cup with other tools, you see the compelling industry applications for Cisco Unified Edge across manufacturing, retail, and beyond.”
2. Secure Networking: A Focus to Core Strengths
Cisco is focusing its efforts on bringing a single, unified ‘Secure Networking’ message to market, underpinned by a philosophy of building products that people genuinely love. “Cisco is getting back to its core strengths,” explains Arjun, “with a clear focus on radical simplification, ensuring secure networking is underpinned by resilient, AI-enabled intelligence.”
3. Operationalising AI for the APJC Market
The conversation around AI has officially shifted from ‘what if’ to ‘how now’. “A consistent theme was how AI is shifting from conceptual POCs to production-grade deployments,” Frances notes. “The panel discussions focused on how to securely operationalise AI-powered solutions to provide tangible business value for customers today.”
Looking ahead: A partnership built on focus
The takeaway from PTX 2026 is one of reciprocity. Cisco continues to invest heavily in technical engineering and partner success, and, in turn, we are better equipped to lead our customers through their digital transformations.
Whether it’s the upcoming AI Canvas for incident response or the push toward secure AI-ready infrastructure, the road ahead is clear. We aren’t just selling boxes, we are building a more resilient, intelligent, and adaptive ecosystem together.
